After all-rounder Imad Wasim, Pakistan’s fast bowler Mohammad Amir has also announced his retirement from international cricket.
Just a day earlier, Imad Wasim had bid farewell to all formats of international cricket, and now Mohammad Amir has followed suit. Both players represented Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Speaking about his decision, Mohammad Amir said that playing for Pakistan was a great honor for him. He added that after much contemplation, he decided to retire from international cricket. Representing Pakistan on the global stage has been a memorable journey for him, and making this decision was not easy.
Amir expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their support and stated that it’s time for young players to step in and showcase their talent.
The PCB has extended its best wishes to both retiring players.
Amir began his international career in 2009 and played 36 Test matches, 61 ODIs, and 62 T20Is for Pakistan. Over his illustrious career, he took a total of 271 wickets across all formats and scored 1179 runs.
