Attack on Checkpost in South Waziristan: 16 Personnel Martyred

In South Waziristan’s Makin district, an attack by insurgents on a security forces checkpost resulted in the martyrdom of 16 personnel, while eight insurgents were killed in retaliation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the night of December 20-21, a group of insurgents attempted to attack a security checkpoint. The forces effectively thwarted the attempt and neutralized eight insurgents. However, 16 brave soldiers of Pakistan embraced martyrdom during the intense exchange of fire.

The ISPR stated that the perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice. Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism, and these sacrifices strengthen their resolve to ensure the country’s safety.
