Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would persist with its sit-in protests, despite what he described as severe government repression. Addressing supporters in Mansehra, Gandapur alleged that hundreds of PTI workers were killed, injured, or arrested during peaceful protests in Islamabad.
Speaking at a press conference, he decried the alleged use of live ammunition against protesters and condemned the targeting of PTI leaders and supporters. “Our workers were peaceful, yet they were met with violence. If we had not been attacked, there would have been no retaliation,” he said.
Gandapur criticized the government for refusing to grant permissions for public gatherings and protests, claiming that the state was curbing democratic rights. He emphasized that the sit-in was part of a larger movement for future generations, adding, “This fight is for our people, and we will continue to make sacrifices.”
Reaffirming loyalty to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, he stated that the protest would continue until further directives from the party leader.
