Middle-order batter Haris Sohail of the Pakistan cricket team has categorically denied rumors of his retirement, emphasizing his commitment to continuing his career in the sport he loves.
In a statement on social media, Haris clarified, “I have not made any decision about retirement, nor do I have any intention to do so. My full focus is on continuing the game that I am passionate about.”
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also confirmed that it had received no formal notification regarding Haris Sohail’s retirement plans.
The 35-year-old cricketer has had an impressive career so far, scoring 847 runs in 16 Test matches at an average of 32.57, including two centuries and three half-centuries. In ODIs, he has played 45 matches, amassing 1,749 runs at an average of 44.84, with two centuries and 14 half-centuries. His top score in ODIs is 130, with a strike rate of 85.48.
Haris has also played 14 T20Is, scoring 210 runs in 13 innings with an average of 19.09, including two half-centuries. His last ODI appearance was against New Zealand in 2023, while his final T20I match was in 2019 against Australia.
