Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir stated that the nation firmly stands with the Pakistan Armed Forces in their fight against the Khawarij Fitna and their facilitators.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the funeral prayers of Major Muhammad Haseeb, who embraced martyrdom in Balochistan’s Harnai district, were offered at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi. The ceremony was attended by the Army Chief, federal ministers, senior military and civilian officials, and the family of the martyred officer.
General Asim Munir emphasized that the sacrifices of brave soldiers in the war against terrorism reflect their unwavering commitment to the defense of the nation. He further stated that the people of Pakistan are united with law enforcement agencies in their mission to eradicate terrorism.
Earlier, a security operation was conducted in Harnai based on intelligence reports, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists. However, a vehicle carrying security personnel was targeted by an improvised explosive device (IED), leading to the martyrdom of Major Muhammad Haseeb and Havaldar Noor Ahmed.
The ISPR revealed that Major Muhammad Haseeb, a 28-year-old officer from Rawalpindi district, had been serving the nation for 8 years and 6 months. He is survived by his parents, a sister, and a brother.
Havaldar Noor Ahmed, aged 38, hailed from Barkhan district and had been serving in the Pakistan Army for 14 years. He leaves behind a wife, three sons, and a daughter.
The ISPR reiterated the Armed Forces’ resolve to thwart any attempts to disrupt peace in Balochistan. It added that the sacrifices of these brave soldiers only strengthen the determination to uphold the sovereignty and security of Pakistan.
