The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to provide written reasons for its reluctance to send the Indian cricket team to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Sources reveal that the ICC has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about its correspondence with the BCCI. If India fails to present valid reasons, the ICC may mandate their participation or consider replacing India with another team.
The ongoing uncertainty could result in significant financial losses for the ICC, estimated at $50 million, and for India, which stands to lose $10 million due to missed broadcasting and sponsorship revenues.
The Champions Trophy schedule remains delayed as tensions between the two nations persist.
