Pakistan’s towering fast bowler Mohammad Irfan has announced his retirement from international cricket, following in the footsteps of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim.
Irfan shared the announcement via a heartfelt message on the social media platform ‘X,’ stating:
“I have decided to retire from international cricket. I am grateful to my teammates, coaches, and fans for their immense support. Playing for Pakistan has been an honor. Thank you for the unforgettable memories. Pakistan Zindabad.”
The pacer last represented Pakistan in a T20 match against Australia in 2019. Over his career, Irfan played 4 Tests, 60 ODIs, and 22 T20Is for the national team.
Earlier, all-rounder Imad Wasim and fast bowler Mohammad Amir had also announced their retirements.
In his farewell note, Mohammad Amir remarked:
“It has been an honor to play for Pakistan. This was a tough decision, but I feel it is the right time to pave the way for the next generation to elevate Pakistan cricket to greater heights.”
