Bangladesh made history by defeating India by 59 runs in the final of the U19 Asia Cup to claim their maiden title.
In the match held in Dubai, Bangladesh batted first and scored 198 runs in 49.1 overs. Razan Hossain was the top scorer for Bangladesh, contributing 47 runs, while India’s Chetan Sharma and Hardik Raj picked up two wickets each.
In response, the Indian batting lineup crumbled under pressure, managing only 139 runs in 35.2 overs. Skipper Mohammad Aman was the top scorer for India with 26 runs.
Bangladesh’s Iqbal Hussain and Aziz-ul-Haq were the standout bowlers, taking three wickets each, sealing their team’s memorable victory.
Interestingly, India’s national team (Rohit Sharma XI) also suffered a humiliating 10-wicket defeat against Australia in the Adelaide Test earlier today, marking a tough day for Indian cricket.
