Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has urged party workers to prepare for an Islamabad march regarding the Madarsah Bill.
Addressing the “Israel Murdabad Conference” in Peshawar, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that if the original draft of the 26th constitutional amendment had been passed, it would have been catastrophic for the country. He described the initial draft as laden with destructive clauses, which were removed to present a healthier constitutional amendment.
He highlighted that the 56-clause draft was trimmed down to 34 clauses, excluding government-imposed sections and incorporating provisions related to interest-free economic systems. He noted that this amendment marks significant progress towards implementing Islamic principles and laws through parliamentary efforts.
Fazlur Rehman criticized the government for initially keeping the draft hidden and then demanding its approval within nine hours. He stressed that they carefully reviewed the bill and thwarted attempts to undermine fundamental human rights.
