May 9 Case: Charges Framed Against Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Others, Plead Not Guilty

In the May 9 arson case, an anti-terrorism court framed charges against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other accused. All defendants pleaded not guilty.

The hearing was conducted by the anti-terrorism court judge in a special jail courtroom. Prominent PTI leaders, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Yasmin Rashid, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, and Senator Ejaz Chaudhary, were presented before the court.

After the charges were read out, the court scheduled the next hearing for December 16 and summoned witnesses for the proceedings. PTI’s legal team, led by Burhan Muazzam Malik, represented the accused.

The case was registered at Sarwar Road Police Station, accusing the PTI leaders of involvement in burning vehicles and other violent incidents during the May 9 protests.
