Sindh Announces Schedule for Matric and Intermediate Exams

The Sindh Education Department has finalized the schedule for matric and intermediate exams. According to the steering committee’s decision, matriculation exams for 9th and 10th grades will commence on March 15, while intermediate exams for 11th and 12th grades are set to begin on April 15.

The matriculation results will be announced on July 15, and intermediate results will follow on August 15. Additionally, the new academic year for schools in Sindh will start on April 1, 2025, while colleges will begin their academic year on August 1, 2025.

Winter vacations are scheduled from December 22 to December 31, and summer vacations will be observed from June 1 to July 31.

Rising Paper and Stationery Prices Add to Parents’ Woes
Meanwhile, a significant increase of over 200% in paper prices across Punjab has led to soaring costs of textbooks, notebooks, school bags, uniforms, and other stationery items.

According to wholesale vendors in Urdu Bazaar, textbook prices have risen by Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,700, while the prices of registers and rough notebooks have also doubled.

Additionally, with the hike in petroleum and gas prices, school pick-and-drop services have raised their fares by Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 per student, further burdening parents financially.

Weekly Holiday Suspended in Islamabad Schools
