The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the red and white ball squads for the upcoming South Africa tour, where the team will play matches across all three formats starting December 10.
Fast bowler Mohammad Abbas returns to the Test squad, while Shaheen Shah Afridi has been rested for the red-ball format to manage his workload and is included only in the white-ball squad. Additionally, Sufiyan Muqeem has earned his maiden inclusion in the ODI squad due to his stellar performance against Zimbabwe.
The series kicks off with the first T20 in Durban on December 10, followed by ODIs and Tests commencing on December 17 and December 26, respectively.
The selectors have tailored the squads considering South African conditions, prioritizing pace over spin. Despite his outstanding performance against England, Sajid Khan has been replaced by Mohammad Abbas due to the suitability of seam-friendly pitches.
Head coach Aqib Javed stated that the squads have been meticulously balanced to ensure a competitive edge against South Africa.
