PM Shehbaz Concludes Azerbaijan Visit, Arrives in Uzbekistan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, after concluding his two-day official visit to Azerbaijan. According to official sources, the visit is taking place at the special invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Upon arrival in Tashkent, PM Shehbaz was warmly received by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Ahmed Farooq, and other senior officials. A ceremonial guard of honor was also presented by the Uzbek armed forces.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will lay a floral wreath at the Independence Monument to pay tribute to Uzbekistan’s historic figures. He will also receive a briefing on the country’s 3,000-year-old cultural heritage and craftsmanship.

PM Shehbaz is set to hold a bilateral meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss trade, investment, regional connectivity, energy cooperation, defense, security, and education. The two leaders will also deliberate on regional and global matters of mutual interest. Several MoUs and agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral collaboration are expected to be signed.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will attend the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Tashkent, where he will address business communities from both countries to explore new trade and investment opportunities. He will also visit the Techno-Park in Tashkent to observe Uzbekistan’s advancements in the construction sector.

The Pakistani delegation accompanying the Prime Minister includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Investment and Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
