The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that Saudi Arabia will provide $500 million as part of the Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum to support global polio eradication efforts.

According to media reports, Saudi Arabia prioritizes public health initiatives and the development of healthcare institutions in underprivileged countries. In collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Saudi Arabia has contributed over $600 million to protect 370 million children annually from polio across 33 member states of the Islamic Development Bank. Of this, $500 million is specifically allocated over the next five years to support the global polio eradication initiative.
