Dhaka: Following the ousting of Sheikh Hasina’s government through a public uprising on August 5, significant changes are unfolding in Bangladesh.
The interim government has decided to remove Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s portrait from Bangladeshi currency notes. Additionally, the slogan “Joy Bangla” has been abolished as the national slogan, as per the Appellate Division’s ruling.
Reports from Bangladeshi media confirm that the new currency notes being printed reflect the characteristics of the recent revolution.
According to foreign media, the interim government’s actions suggest a deliberate effort to eliminate the influence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his daughter’s divisive politics
