Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has announced a Gaza Million March to be held in Islamabad on December 29, as confirmed by the party’s leader, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, during a press conference.
Speaking to the media, Hafiz Naeem criticized the Syrian government, accusing it of suppressing its people and committing injustices under Bashar al-Assad’s regime. He added that the Syrian populace is yet to receive their due rights.
On the economic front, he pointed out that a handful of individuals have monopolized the country’s resources, and the surge in the stock exchange is artificial. He remarked that similar patterns were observed in the past, with bank funds being diverted into the stock market.
Hafiz Naeem highlighted that Karachi contributes the largest share of income tax in the country, yet the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), which has ruled Sindh for 17 years, has failed to deliver anything meaningful. He alleged that a systematic plan is being executed to seize public lands and noted that Karachi has been facing a severe water shortage for the past 11 days.
He further criticized the vested interests supporting PPP, stating that the people of Sindh no longer back the party. He concluded by saying that those who brought PPP to power should now remove them from office
