On the third day of the match, Joe Root scored his 36th Test century, leaving England just over two sessions to seal the victory. Chasing a mammoth target of 583, New Zealand faltered early and, despite Tom Blundell’s century, were bowled out for 259.
England claimed an eight-wicket win in Christchurch, followed by a commanding 323-run triumph in Wellington to take the series 2-0. Harry Brook was named Player of the Match for his brilliant century.
