Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to brief him on the progress and preparations for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
The Prime Minister praised the chairman’s principled stance on the tournament and expressed complete confidence in his leadership. Shehbaz Sharif remarked that the PCB’s approach resonates with the aspirations of every Pakistani and acknowledged Mohsin Naqvi’s efforts in representing the nation at the ICC.
He further stated that the dignity and honor of Pakistan are paramount and must take precedence over everything else.
Mohsin Naqvi assured the Prime Minister that PCB is fully prepared to host the Champions Trophy and emphasized their focus on achieving success for both Pakistan and the sport of cricket. He promised that good news would soon follow regarding the tournament.
Speaking to the media in Lahore earlier, the PCB Chairman revealed that the Champions Trophy meeting had been postponed but assured that updates would be shared once final decisions are made. He affirmed that the nation’s expectations will be met and significant developments are on the horizon.
