Indian media reports that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be hosted by Pakistan under the hybrid model, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) agreeing to the arrangement.
As per the agreement, India will play its matches at a neutral venue, and under this model, India and Pakistan will not tour each other’s countries until 2027. This arrangement will also apply to other ICC tournaments, including the Women’s World Cup and the T20 World Cup 2026.
The official announcement from the International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected on December 7, with the Indian cricket board already informing the ICC of its approval.
PCB officials stated that while some issues remain unresolved, they are optimistic about reaching clarity within two days.
Senior journalist Saleem Khaliq revealed that an informal meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah led to the agreement on the hybrid model.
