The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has lifted the ban on Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) flights to Europe.
According to a statement from PIA, the agency congratulated the airline’s team for meeting its stringent safety standards. The ban had been in place since 2020 following an issue with pilots’ licenses. The lifting of the ban will allow passengers to travel directly to European destinations with PIA, offering significant relief to the national carrier.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif both welcomed the move, emphasizing the positive impact on PIA’s credibility and financial outlook.
