Karachi:The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has appointed Justice Karim Khan Agha as the head of a nine-member constitutional bench at the Sindh High Court. The bench will deliberate on key constitutional cases over the next two months.
According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court Registrar, the commission met under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi to discuss the formation of constitutional benches in the Sindh High Court. Prominent members, including Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Aminuddin Khan, and Sindh High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, attended the meeting.
The commission unanimously approved the appointment of Justice Karim Khan Agha as the head of the constitutional bench, which also includes Justices Saleem Jessar, Omar Sial, Yusuf Ali Syed, Abdul Mubeen Lakho, and others.
The decision aims to expedite the resolution of pending cases and address the court’s workload effectively. Federal Law Minister, the Attorney General, and other key officials were present during the session.
This move follows prior meetings where the formation of constitutional benches remained incomplete. The approval of the current bench is expected to significantly streamline judicial proceedings in Sindh High Court.
