Australia was bowled out for 238 runs. Earlier, India had declared their second innings at 487/6 after a solid performance from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 161 runs, and Virat Kohli, who added 100 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler, taking 8 wickets in the match. The second Test of the series will be played in Adelaide starting December 5, as a Day-Night match.
