In a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Apex Committee of the National Action Plan approved a comprehensive military operation against terrorist groups in Balochistan.
The meeting, attended by civil and military leadership, reviewed the country’s security situation and agreed to re-activate the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and establish provincial intelligence fusion centers. The operation targets groups like the BLA, BLF, and BRA, accused of harming Pakistan’s economic progress.
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the military’s commitment to eliminating security threats, emphasizing the importance of political unity and governance improvements to achieve sustainable stability.
