The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a relief package under which electricity users across Pakistan will receive discounts of up to Rs. 26 per unit during the winter season.
Chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, the meeting approved the Power Division’s proposal to provide relief from December 2024 to February 2025. The package applies to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers, including those served by K-Electric.
According to the ECC’s statement, additional electricity usage compared to last year will be charged at flat rates. Domestic consumers will benefit from Rs. 11.42 to Rs. 26 per unit, commercial users from Rs. 13.46 to Rs. 22.71, and industrial users from Rs. 5.72 to Rs. 15.05 per unit.
This initiative aims to encourage higher electricity usage during the winter months while providing significant financial relief to all categories of consumers.
