Washington: Reports indicate that U.S. President Joe Biden has approved Ukraine’s use of American-provided long-range missiles for strikes inside Russian territory, marking a significant shift in Washington’s policy.
The decision comes as President Biden prepares to leave office, with President-elect Donald Trump set to assume the presidency on January 20, 2025.
The missiles, part of the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), are expected to target Russian forces and their North Korean allies in the Kursk region. Ukraine has been pressing for months to gain permission to use these weapons to counter Russian advances in eastern Ukraine.
