Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court has granted transit bail to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, following his petition seeking details of cases registered against him across various regions. A two-member bench, comprising Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah, presided over the hearing.
During proceedings, Gandapur’s counsel argued that details of cases against him in Punjab and other areas should be made available. The Advocate General informed the court that Gandapur is scheduled to attend an IMF meeting in Islamabad, emphasizing the need for the Chief Minister’s travel to the capital. The Additional Attorney General further assured the court that the Ministry of Interior is committed to complying with court orders and that letters have been dispatched to all relevant districts, though additional time will be needed to compile the complete report.
Justice Sahibzada Asadullah noted that, as a public representative, the Chief Minister has multiple duties and cannot be expected to attend court daily. Following this, the court extended Gandapur’s transit bail and adjourned the hearing until December 17.
