Bilawal Bhutto Zardari not pleased with slow internet: Youth must play role for digital rights

Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari once again criticized the slow internet and said that high-speed internet is the fundamental right of every citizen and to meet the demands of the digital age, we must ensure protection of data privacy.

Addressing the convocation of IBA Sukkur
Speaking at the convocation of IBA Sukkur, Bilawal Bhutto said that the people sitting in Islamabad neither know about the internet nor the importance of the digital world. He added that they have no knowledge about WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram.

Bilawal appealed to the youth to give their suggestions for the Digital Bill of Rights and support them in this struggle. He said that the youth must be active in protecting their digital rights so that better access to the internet is possible in the future.

Emphasis on education and climate change
Chairman PP, while calling education the main pillar of social development, said that education is a weapon that no one can take away. He said that the Sindh government is performing important services in the education and health sectors and the proof of this is that children from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and even Sri Lanka come here to study.

Terming climate change as a major challenge, he said that Pakistan will have to make future plans in line with climate risks. Roads, houses, and energy projects must be designed keeping climate change in mind.

Need to connect to the digital world
Bilawal Bhutto said that thanks to high-speed internet, the youth, whether they are in villages or any other corner of the world, can connect to the developed world. However, we first have to explain to those who are unaware of the problems and needs of the digital world.

He said that Pakistan will have to raise its voice in favor of reducing carbon emissions to reduce the effects of climate change at the global level.

Conclusion
Bilawal Bhutto highlighted important issues like education, digital rights, and climate change and urged the youth to join the struggle. He said that it is time for us to provide better opportunities for our future generations.
