The government has announced the schedule of public and optional holidays for the year 2025, with a total of 40 holidays, including 17 public holidays and 23 optional ones.
According to the notification:
February 5 will be observed as Kashmir Day.
Pakistan Day will be on March 23.
Labor Day will fall on May 1, while Youm-e-Takbeer will be observed on May 28.
Eid-ul-Fitr holidays will be from March 30 to April 1.
Eid-ul-Adha holidays will span from June 7 to June 9.
Additionally, the 9th and 10th of Muharram will be observed on July 5 and 6, respectively.
Independence Day will be on August 14, while Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ will be observed on either September 5 or 6.
Iqbal Day will be on November 9, and December 25 will mark Quaid-e-Azam Day/Christmas, with an additional holiday for Christian employees on December 26.
Islamic holidays have been scheduled based on expected dates, with a separate notification to be issued based on the sighting of the moon.
Bank holidays will be observed on January 1, March 1, and July 1.
Muslim government employees will be allowed one optional holiday per year, while non-Muslim employees will be permitted up to three optional holidays
