Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Kurram District, calling out the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for its inaction.
In a statement, Bilawal noted that Kurram has been engulfed in unrest, with the provincial government nowhere to be seen. He revealed that over 80 citizens had lost their lives in the last three days amid the escalating violence.
Bilawal lamented that residents of Kurram are no longer safe, even within their homes, as law enforcement fails to provide security. “Ensuring peace and order is the primary responsibility of the provincial government, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led administration has miserably failed in this duty,” he said.
The PPP chairman condemned the provincial government for its “criminal negligence” in protecting citizens’ lives and property. He vowed that the PPP would play an active role in restoring peace across KP, especially in Kurram District.
Bilawal urged immediate action to address the crisis and ensure the safety and well-being of Kurram’s residents.
