Digital Front Becoming a Tool for Anti-Pakistan Propaganda: PM Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed concern over the recent surge in social media campaigns spreading lies and distorting facts about Pakistan. He stated that this wave of misinformation, triggered by recent attacks on Islamabad, is unprecedented and must be countered to safeguard the country’s efforts.

Speaking at the National Action Plan’s Apex Committee meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted that Pakistan’s enemies are actively plotting against the nation. He referenced a recent cross-border attack that was met with a strong response and pointed out that enemy agents are operating in certain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also emphasized that external forces are backing conspiracies against Pakistan in Balochistan.

PM Sharif stressed the need for unity across all provinces, the federal government, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir to ensure peace and prosperity. He stated that the time has come for the complete eradication of extremist elements.

The Prime Minister further noted that the digital front has become a significant challenge. Anti-Pakistan agents operating from abroad are distorting facts and propagating false narratives against the country, raising unnecessary questions and fueling conspiracies.

He also condemned the spread of false news about martyred Rangers personnel during the attacks on Islamabad. He emphasized that the sacrifices of soldiers and law enforcement officers should not be undermined, as they are a testament to their dedication and patriotism.
